3 ½ cups self-raising flour1 tbsp Caster sugar
1 tsp salt
70g butter, chopped
1 ½ cups milk
¼ cup, fresh chives chopped
1 tbsp dried parsley
¼ cup parmesan, grated
⅔ cup cheddar, grated
1 tsp minced garlic
Step 1: Preheat oven to 200°C. Step 2: Line a 20 x 28cm slice tray with baking paper.
Step 2: Combine flour, sugar, chopped butter and salt in a large mixing bowl. Knead together until a bread crumb texture forms.
Step 3: Add the milk, parsley, chives, garlic and cheddar cheese. Mix together with an electric mixer dough hook, to create a near dough consistency.
Step 4: Turn dough mixture out onto a floured work bench and work dough into a 4cm thick circle.
Step 5: Use a 5cm round cookie cutter to cut out 12 scones.
Step 6: Place scones on prepared tray and brush with extra milk.
Step 7: Sprinkle scones with parmesan cheese and bake for 15- 20 minutes.
