500g diced beef
2 tbsp cornflour, divided
½ cup water
⅓ cup soy sauce
2 tbsp water
1 garlic clove, minced
500g broccoli florets
1 white onion, quartered
2 spring onions, sliced
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp ground ginger
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp pepper
2 cups rice
Step 1: Prepare 2 cups of steamed rice according to packet instructions.
Step 2: Meanwhile, in a mixing bowl combine 1 tbsp of the cornflour with 2 tbsp water, salt, pepper, ground ginger and minced garlic. Mix well to form a paste.
Step 3: Add beef to mixing bowl and toss through the paste to coat well.
Step 4: Spray wok with oil and heat over medium heat.
Step 5: When wok is hot, add sliced onion and coated beef. Stir fry for 4 minutes.
Step 6: Add broccoli and spring onion to the wok. Stir fry for a further 2 minutes.
Step 7: In another small mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, ½ cup water and remaining tbsp of corn flour. Mix well to form another paste. Add paste to wok and stir-fry for another 2 minutes.
Step 8: Remove stir-fry from heat and serve with steamed rice.
